Hailing from Chicago, IL, Dr. Joseph Prohaska attended Midwestern University in Downers Grove, IL, and completed his Dermatology Residency at Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton, NC. Dr. Prohaska joined HealthStar Physicians, PC, a multi-specialty provider group of 100+ providers in the Lakeway Area, in 2019. His clinical interests include medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology.
Dr. Prohaska is certified by the American Board of Dermatology and American Board of Osteopathic Dermatology and he is a member of the American Society of Mohs Surgery, American Academy of Dermatology, American Osteopathic College of Dermatology. In addition to caring for adult and pediatric patients at HealthStar Dermatology in Morristown, Tennessee, Dr. Prohaska enjoys the outdoors (with sunscreen), gardening, camping, and hiking. He and his wife Meghan, an ultramarathon runner who runs races of 100 miles, are active in Arrowhead Church and have two dogs, Dusty and Ryder. Dr. Prohaska is a Chicago Bears fan and also roots for the Vols (though he will tell you that some members of the office have attempted to convert him to support Kentucky). His other areas of interest include board games, personal finance, and real estate.
David Mullins, hailing from Speedwell, TN, joined Healthstar Dermatology as a Physician Assistant in 2024. He brings a strong academic background to his role, having earned his undergraduate degree in Biology, followed by a Master of Medical Science and a Doctorate of Medical Science from Lincoln Memorial University.
David is deeply committed to providing exceptional care and ensuring that his patients feel comfortable and well-supported. His dedication extends beyond the clinic; he is an active member of his church, where he teaches children's Sunday school.
In his free time, David enjoys quality moments with his 10-year-old daughter, particularly on the range, and traveling with his wife of 16 years, Samantha.
Kasey Smith joined Healthstar Physicians in October 2022, bringing her expertise and passion for patient care to the field of dermatology. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Lincoln Memorial University in 2017 and went on to obtain her Master of Science in Nursing from South College in 2022. Kasey is board certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
As a dedicated Family Nurse Practitioner at Healthstar Dermatology, Kasey is committed to providing exceptional care to her patients. Her goal is to help individuals feel confident in their skin and improve their overall quality of life through personalized treatment plans and compassionate support.
Outside of her professional responsibilities, Kasey enjoys baking, listening to music, and spending quality time with her family. Her warm personality and commitment to her patients make her a valued member of the Healthstar team.
Jacquelyn is NCCPA Board Certified and has maintained this certification since 1990. She is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Kentucky Academy of Physician Assistants, the Tennessee Academy of Physician Assistants, and the Society of Physician Assistants in Dermatology.
With a diverse background in healthcare, Jacquelyn has worked in various settings, including hospital-based practices, surgical assistance, and pediatrics. However, she discovered her true passion for dermatology in 1998. Her extensive training in family medicine, combined with her specialized expertise, enables her to provide comprehensive care to her patients.
In her spare time, Jacquelyn enjoys reading, cooking, volunteering at her church, and spending time at the beach. She is committed to delivering the highest quality of care and continues to strive to positively impact the lives of her patients.
Whitney Rogers is a dedicated Dermatology Physician Assistant at HealthStar Physicians, where she has served since April 2, 2012. She holds an Associate's degree in Biology from Middle Georgia College (2007), a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Georgia Southern University (2009), and a Master’s degree from Lincoln Memorial University- DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (2011).
Whitney completed a Diplomate Fellowship through the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and has gained valuable experience as a faculty preceptor for PA students at Lincoln Memorial University. Before joining HealthStar, she worked as a Primary Care Physician Assistant at Sneedville Medical Center.
Board certified in Tennessee since 2011, Whitney is an active member of the AAPA, TAPA, SDPA, and holds BLS/ACLS certifications. With over 12 years of experience in dermatology, she is passionate about treating skin diseases, rashes, and cancers, ensuring her patients feel comfortable and satisfied with their care. Whitney feels blessed to work alongside a wonderful team at HealthStar Dermatology, all dedicated to serving the community.
In her free time, Whitney enjoys running, attending her children’s extracurricular activities, playing tennis, camping with her family, and spending time with her two miniature dachshunds.
